Jobs First NYC is the lead on four different NYC-based OY collaborations.
The Bronx Opportunity Network (BON) is a collaborative effort of seven Bronx Community Based Organizations designed to increase community college access and retention of academically at risk young adults.
Over the last few years, BON has supported college partnerships in their efforts to improve structures, policies, and procedures that lead to more effective services for the students.
We have seen very significant expansion and acceleration in the pace of program involvement, achievement, and integration at Bronx and Hostos Community Colleges.
As a result of our outreach and increased recruiting efforts in cooperation with the colleges, more and more students, who barely escape high school and carry significant academic risk, are willing to try to go to college and enrolling earlier.
Areas of Collaborative Focus: Postsecondary education, workforce development.
